Mr. J’ai- I’ll admit, I gave up on trying to catch the tempo of this beat. It was not working for me even though I love the sample and the concept. I knew what I wanted to say but it didn’t feel right. Then, I heard Wil’s verse and was amazed by his storytelling ability. We’ve never met but I’m glad L’Dai brought him in. Now, the pressure was coming down. I wanted to see if he could just pull the drums out and I’ll write a rap like that. Not only did he do it, he replayed the sample like notes on a keyboard. It sounded so sweet. I could do no wrong on this section- just flow. This is one of my favorite verses on the album because I’m speaking about the emotions of an artist. We doubt our abilities at times. We also get elated with accolades and compliments come. In the industry, the price of fame is never really discussed until that price has been paid. This can make or break an artist. This song is definitely a ventricle of this project.

L’Daialogue- Again, I was listening to Anita Baker and as she does...the track was speaking to me lol. Once I wrote my verse I sent the track over to Will because I knew he was gonna take it somewhere different conceptually. Once J’ai got down, it was complete. The rap game that we used to know is gone but the remnants are still there. I think we all spoke from a personal perspective to not get caught up in the illusions that most get roped into.
